The preschool celebrated learning all their letters, by hosting an alphabet fashion show. They were each assigned a letter & made a vest at home with their parents. Students modeled their vests by strutting down the runway, then celebrated by singing "Do You Know Your Alphabet?"

Mrs. Barrington’s 8th grade science classes experimented with electromagnets!

FFA members installed signs near the Ag Shop entrance that were purchased at the Auglaize County Fair Auction. Steve & Jean Turner Donated a sign to the WG FFA last year with Karl & Edee Marshall donating a sign from this year. Thanks for your support!

The WG Preschool wrapped up their How It’s Built STEM Series by learning about how cars are built. They assembled their cars by adding a powertrain (that included a balloon engine) to the body of the car; then they added axles and wheels. Finally, we went outside to test and fix the cars.

Tomorrow, on Thursday, April 25, students in Grades 6-10 will be taking the End of Course Tests in Math, Algebra, and Geometry. Please encourage your child to get a good night's rest, eat a good breakfast, and try their best on the test. The results can be used to determine graduation eligibility and if students are on track for graduation.
Also, please make sure their Chromebook is charged and that they arrive at school on time to begin testing in the morning.

The 3rd grade listened to a presentation about water pollution and soil erosion from the Augalize Soil and Water Conservation District(ASWCD). Chris Davis was the presenter and brought along her "waterscape" model to show how pollution such as oil, trash, grass clippings, and dirt can wash into our waterways and end up in our rivers and lakes. Students were challenged to come up with ways to filter the pollutants before they get to our fresh water sources. The ASWCD also passed out stickers and an activity book for each of the students to learn more about water and soil. Thank you ASWCD!

Mrs. Barrington’s science classes competed in March Mammal Madness by completing a bracket and watching simulated battles. Congratulations to this years winners!

Tonight's HS BB/SB games at Ridgedale have been postponed. A make up date is to be determined.

Mrs. Casey's class celebrated all their hard work this year with a glow party! They made letters with glow sticks, writing letters and words with highlighter, using puff balls to make letters, a cup stacking challenge, and various math activities! They had "glow much fun!"

Last week, the Kindergarten classes attended the Make Believe Hospital. They learned about x-rays, casts, eating healthy, and much more!

On Wednesday April 17th, the National Honor Society sponsored a Red Cross blood drive. 22 pints of blood were donated. Thank you to the students for hosting and thank you to all who donated “the gift of life.”

The preschool classes took a field trip to the Neil Armstrong Museum. They participated in a hands-on lesson about the solar system. They were also able to explore the museum!

Four of our WG students earn a Reading Excellence Award at the Grand Lake Area Literacy Festival this last weekend at TriStar in Celina. The winners were 3rd graders Josie and Owen. The 4th graders were Mike and Reece. There were several authors that signed their books, held discussions and read books throughout the festival. Each recipient also received a book of their choice along with a certificate. Congratulations on your hard work and making improvements throughout the year!
