Last night the NWCC held their winter banquet to recognize 1st team award winners in basketball and bowling. Congratulations to Tatelyn Faraglia, Raegan Hutchison and Levi Glick on earning 1st team honors in basketball! Tatelyn was also the Player of the Year in girls basketball! Also, both boys and girls teams were recognize for being Runners-Up in the NWCC. Way to go everyone!!




Mrs. Wildermuth's class knows about American symbols.

Mrs. Searson's 7th graders took the 3rd graders on a "trip" to Alaska, introducing them to the Iditarod Sled Dog Race. Students learned about topics including the 1925 Serum Run, dog breeds and care, cold weather clothing, and general health and nutrition. The 3rd grade also experienced "flying" on a plane and onboard snacks! The 3rd grade had read a book on the Iditarod and read some Blogs from "Sled Dog Journalists" so they were able to ask a lot of great questions to the 7th graders. Great job 7th grade on the informative presentations!

Congratulations to Brennan and Landon for winning the W-G 6th Grade Iditarod Dog Sled Race! Students used TinkerCad and the 3D printers in the MakerDen to design and print their sleds. They raced their sleds using Sphero Robots. Great job to everyone who participated!

For the month of February, Miss Crates' class participated in “The Great Valentines Exchange” meaning they sent and received Valentines from all over the country including Canada, Alaska, and Hawaii.

Jayce Turner is currently competing in the hammer throw at the State Indoor Track and Field Championships!

Our very own Pep Band performed the National Anthem at the Ft. Wayne Komets game. Members of the Jackson Center Band joined our students as well!

Miss Crates’ class celebrated leap year by solving different math problems, doing 29 exercises, reading stories, & many fun activities!


2nd graders in Mrs. Burden’s and Mrs. Zechman’s class who passed their addition and subtraction math facts earned a pizza party! Great job everyone!!

Sophomore students enjoyed learning more about their next author, William Shakespeare! Students worked through stations scanning QR Codes that sent them to different articles and videos about British history and Shakespeare's career and plays.

3rd and 4th grade STEM Enrichment students are participating in First Lego League Explore - where they work in teams to learn the fundamentals of engineering, robotics, and coding. They also explore real world problems and create unique solutions.

Mrs. Welch's English students attended the Bluffton University English Festival. Students heard from Creative Writing majors and an author, Maurice Broaddus. Bella won the writing contest with her narrative titled "The Rise and Fall of CordBots." Emri received honorable mention.

5th Graders in Mrs. Ludwig's Class are studying natural disasters and push and pull factors. They used this information to write scripts and record news broadcasts.

Today Dr. Maddy from Auglaize Animal Hospital came in to speak to the preschoolers about being a veterinarian. Students learned what a vet is & dressed up to treat their animals. They learned how to wrap their animals & how to administer "medicine & shots". Thank you Dr. Maddy!
