Our preschool students got to spend the day outside to predict, observe & learn about science experiments. Magic milk, dancing corn, & elephant toothpaste were some experiments that took place. They also got to play with the parachute & made very large bubble with Mrs. Junkins.

WG students visited ONU where they were able to work with their Athletic Training and Strength and Conditioning staff. A special thanks goes out to the ONU staff that helped put on a fantastic learning experience for our students here at WG!

Over the past few weeks, Mrs. Casey's Class has been observing their caterpillars and their metamorphosis into butterflies. The students also made their own caterpillars that followed along with the real ones. Earlier this week her students were able to let their butterflies go!

Mrs. McKinney & Mrs. Casey's preschool students were able to enjoy field day yesterday!

4th & 5th Grade Students visited Imagination Station in Toledo on Tuesday. Imagination Station is dedicated to making STEM fun & accessible. They visited many hands-on exhibits & participated in experiments where they created & learned about endothermic & exothermic reactions.

TIGERS WIN!!!
The HS BB team defeated Perry tonight in the opening round of the Div 4 Sectional Tournament 4-0! Jace Kaufman pitched 7 innings and threw a NO HITTER! Jace had 9 strikeouts and the Tigers D played great behind him! Troy Spencer provided some insurance with a 2-run HR in the 6th inning and the Tigers won a tournament game for the first time in over 20 years! Congratulations to Head Coach Josh Spencer and the entire team!
They will travel to St. Henry on Thursday evening to take on the Redskins at 5:00pm. Tickets must be purchased online at ohsaa.org.

W-G celebrated Earn Your Stripes Rewards today in grades 6-12! Anywhere from candy bars to two televisions were given as prizes today! Thank you students for all you do in the classroom to push yourselves and succeed!

5th grade students put their skills of dividing fractions to use (keep, change, flip) to cut down some homemade bubble recipes to sample size. The winning homemade bubbles will be used at PreK Science Day to teach preschool students the science of bubbles!

English 11 finished up "The Great Gatsby" by completing character posters. In small groups, the juniors looked at each character in depth by researching their personality traits and how they developed through the novel. Great job on the projects!

YOUTH BOYS BASKETBALL CAMP!
The HS players and coaches will be putting on a youth basketball camp this summer on June 5th, 6th and 7th. This is for boys entering grades 3-8 for the 2023-2024 school year. The cost of the camp is $25 and can be paid with cash on the first day or camp, or by check made out to the W-G Athletic Boosters. Each camper will receive a T-shirt. Registration ends May 25th. The 2nd Grade had an end of the year picnic this afternoon!

Students in Miss Crates' Kindergarten class celebrated R day as part of their end of year ABC Countdown. Students had a robot party and worked on some basic programming and shape review in the Makerden.

WG continues to do some amazing things! Did you know that once a week Mr. Epperly's Leadership Class mentors the Kindergarten Classes? How awesome is that! Earlier this week they all celebrated the end of the year with some popsicles outside.

Yesterday was Ag Day at WG! There were demonstrations about soil preservation, animal safety, & equipment safety. EL students also learned from HS Ag students about caring for & handling different farm animals that were on display - goats, pony, donkey, calf, ducks, sheep & more!

The seniors presented their Business Plans & Senior Defense Projects yesterday. Each student researches current issues or creates their own small business throughout the school year. Projects were presented to judges from the area. Thank you to the judges, & great job, seniors!

Preparations are in full swing for the NWCC League Track Meet. Good Luck Tigers!!
